Pavel Datsyuk is a Bad Man

The term “broken ankles” is usually heard on a basketball court, not a hockey rink. But, the Detroit Red Wings’ Pavel Datsyuk appears to be borrowing some moves from his hard court brethren and putting them into practice on the ice.

Now, normally, Datsyuk revels in shaming goalies and, occasionally, entire teams. Unfortunately for San Jose’s Logan Couture, it appears Datsyuk might be branching out to include opposing centers as well because last Thursday he did this:

The worst part of this nasty move?

It was Logan Couture’s birthday.

WORST BIRTHDAY EVER. THANKS PAVEL.

But, seriously. Thanks Pavel. That was awesome.

    • doogie … I heard about this just this evening. Abominable. HNIC needs to swlaolw their pride and pony up. It’s all about not doing business with someone with whom they’re in litigation (the writer is suing them for copyright misuse or some such).Regardless, they’ve got a tonne of mileage off of that–as has every Canadian who isn’t a hermit. Hockey, and Canada’s hockey theme, belong together. They’re inseparable and it better be there come October.
