Listen, I’m not one to get overly freaked out by animals.

Some people are frightened by snakes or obsessed with dolphins (friendly reminder: dolphins are bastards). Others, including a member of our staff, are convinced that monkeys are out to get us and that the apes want nothing more than to take over the world. I was never about any of that stuff.

UNTIL NOW.

And that’s because I just saw this video a couple days ago. Unfortunately, I can now never unsee it.

If you were too stunned to process what you were seeing, watch it again. If you are too horrified to watch it again, I understand. Let me explain.

You just saw an octopus hop out of a tide pool and completely wreck some dumb, unsuspecting crab. In that dumb crab’s defense though, he/she was on land, which is not normally a place where octopuses are just chilling.

UNTIL NOW.

You just saw the beginning of the end, friends. In the future, giant land octopuses will roam the Great Plains, and we will be the dumb unsuspecting crabs.

That sure is going to be lame.
