Without a doubt, a lot of terrible happened toward the end of last week and into the weekend. But, thankfully, there was also a bit of good occurring on a soccer pitch in Seattle.
That bit of good came in the form of 18 year-old Xander Bailey, who suffers from cystic fibrosis. The teenager had always dreamed of playing soccer professionally but had been unable to pursue his dream due to complications from his illness. With the help of the Seattle Sounders, the Make-A-Wish Foundation was able to make Bailey’s dream come true. As a member of the Sounders, Bailey was able to train with the team, take a shot during a match, and hear a raucous crowd chant his name.
